Josh was super excited to play soccer this year. And he was even more excited when they decided to name his team the Sharks! He has been OBSESSED with sharks ever since our beach trip.
He has a wonderfully large cheering section.
And has finally figured out you can take the ball away from the other team, he was a little stressed about that at first.... However, you should not take away the ball from your own team....
The games are a blast to watch. Josh missed the deadline to turn five by a couple of days so he is one of the older ones in his group - meaning his team is pretty young, and hilarious.
Favorites include:
Teammates who don't want to play soccer but prefer to do push ups in the middle of the field.
Fights about who GETS to sit out when it's hot outside.
Hugging each other in excitement when they soccer.
Hitting the other team when they get in the way or are mean in anyway (we don't let them get away with this but it is humorous)
Various kids running off the field in tears when the ball gets taken from them.
There are so many emotions at this age.
Oh - and Anna, not to be left out, is counting down the days until she can play on a pink team... Can you request color of uniform?

One of my favorites is the kid who doesn't want to go in right after half time because he's not done eating his snack. It's better that Josh is one of the oldest. Caleb missed it by 10 days and Luke will miss it by a week. But it's all the better because at this age the older they are, the better their skills.
My boys have the same cleats as Josh!
